Child Care Provisions Act

The Child Care Provisions Act has been in effect since 1 January 2005. This act regulates the quality and financing of child care. The basic assumption is that child care is a concern of parents, employers and the government. Parents who work and care for their children receive child care allowance from the government.

Child care allowance

The allowance is based on income. The day care centre or childminding agency must be registered with the municipality. The government currently reimburses an hourly rate of up to EUR 6.10. Consult the website of the Tax and Customs Administration to find out whether you are eligible for child care allowance, and if so, for what amount.
